The rubber coating on the Valve Cover / Cylinder Head Plug (located to the right of the engine when facing the engine), has shrunk or cannot maintain a good seal. The transmission's ATF fluid level will gradually drop due to this seal leakage. This will be helpful during installation of the cover. Silicone gaskets tend to have greater longevity and retain their elasticity better than their rubber counterparts - if you can find a silicone gasket. What we've got is an AFE dry filter, we've got the clamps that'll attach the connecting boot to the intake piece that goes on the plenum on the vehicle, you've got the heat shield that protects it and mounts the piece to the fender of the vehicle. Like 1 din car DVD, 2 Din Car DVD, cushion and flip down car DVD player. Now, I am going to tighten this all the way down because we are finished in this area right here. It will fit in, and you'll feel it snapped in, put the boot over it and it will fit inside. Along with the players being appealed much entire in terms of dashboards it can fit into. What you want do at that break point, that's what's going to go around the corner smoothly here, so what we are going to do is you're going to tuck that all the way down over the sharp edge of the sheet metal, more of a protection than for you and for the vehicle's hood pad. We've got the air intake boot that goes to the plenum. What I have done here is, I've installed the clamp that I am going need to attach to my coupler on to the tube first loosely. Now the only thing left is our cover seal. So I am going to make sure this slides over the first stud, aligns with this, leave it position, you are going to put a flat washer and a 6 millimeter nut on top of this existing mount from the old system, and right now I am just going to tighten every thing barely tight. Now, we are going to install the heat shield for over this water hose right here. The whole system should come off in just a few minutes. Go all the way to the bottom. So here's all the pieces for that AFE intake kit. Now what I want to do is that I want to align this hole, so I can have this piece tightened down and what this is -- I am just using the factory -- you are required to use the factory fasteners there for that. Put your boot over it because we don't want any moisture inside, same thing with this. I've also put my screw to the clamp in the position it's going need to be in so I can tighten it down. Finally adding the three costs ($2149 ruckus + $1185 gas +$96 insurance) yields a total cost of driving of $3430 that we divide by the number of miles ($3430/30,000 miles) to attain an ultimate cost of driving a Ruckus of $0.11, or 11 cents, per mile.

My roommates have cars, but they can't afford to pay the $10 to park on campus every day and so it is a real hassle for them to get to school (waiting on busses, bumming rides, etc). Sure, the website probably overestimates a bit, but at the same time calculating the mileage over the course of one year and not several somewhat offsets this overestimation as only one year worth of insurance is included in the calculation.
To calculate the cost of driving for a ruckus we assume the price of a brand new ruckus at $2149, determine the price of gas it would cost to drive 30,000 miles, and then tack on the $96 dollar insurance premium. In other words, assuming the cost of insurance and gas can be ignored due to how insignificant they are, you make one payment for a Honda Ruckus and it is yours. Do NOT underestimate this aspect as you haven't actually taken a 'quick trip to the store' until you bomb over to CVS on your Ruckus, pull right up and park next to the door, walk in, walk out, and jump back on your Ruckus , and take off. For example it even includes a 0.13 cent cost per mile with the assumption that sometime over the course of your driving career you will get in an accident. At that point my buddy offered that I take a look at his friend's 2009 Honda Ruckus that his friend was trying to sell. they're cool!

The Ruckus I had bought had a few modifications including a Yoshimura exhaust, a dropped down seat frame, foot pegs, an NCY suspension/chrome kickstand, among a few others. If you're tight on cash, the thousands of dollars worth of mechanical work you're going to end up having to pay on the Jalopy you bought is only going to be that much more painful to bear. Just keep in mind that this is probably a gross overestimation, which includes ALL aspects of cost related to travel. Worry free mate!

To illustrate how cheap a Ruckus is in comparison to a car, I'm going to estimate the cost per mile to drive each. BAM.. What single college kid is going to need more than this from the grocery store?? As far as everyday life goes, there is nothing you can't do with the Ruck.. To determine the price of gas, we determine the amount of gallons needed to drive 30,000 miles (30,000 miles / 100 MPG) which comes out to 300 gallons. So.....

Take a screwdriver, unscrew the screw in the image above, and... I'm just saying, it's quick, I haven't tried it yet but if you wanted to literally jump to your Ruckus from inside the store you could probably pull it off.
Also, I've seen people posting questions asking if they are too big for a Ruckus... as a point of reference, my old roommate from the Basketball team here at Colorado University, 6' 7'' 230 lbs, had no problem with it.
